Programming for the Future
The world of technology is rapidly advancing each day with new, powerful, more versatile and more user-friendly technologies cropping up. The idea that computer engineers and other technological developers have become more dynamic just like medical researchers or biologist is not a new one.
My Journey After Computer Engineering
This is my story of how a new Computer Agency that is less than two years old went to become one of the leading companies in an industry dominated by big companies and ranked among the best.
My name is Howard. After studying Computer Engineering in a local university, I went to seek for a job just like any other fresh graduate would do. At that time, I didn’t have much experience but being a computer enthusiast, I knew that I brought to the company that employed me a lot of potential in terms of productivity.
The starting pay was not attractive but I did my best to output what I believed was nothing short of my bets. In the company, there was a lot of emphasis on innovativeness but all the ideas that I came up with was shunned down by the management.
To them I was an amateur who wouldn’t offer a lot, save for being a liability; to me, this was a harassment and a big letdown. Whenever, I tried arguing my point out, I was totally rejected. At that time, it was when programming of apps was relatively new and I came up with a unique idea one day which I knew would be much appreciated.
The Frustration Begins…
As usual, it was turned down. By this time, I was becoming frustrated because the management was even complaining that I was being rewarded but outputting very little. Six months of working with the company, I decided to call it quits.
I had barely saved enough money because at that time I was still repaying my students loan. But it came a point when quitting was the best thing I could do. To make matters worse, there was a global recession then and finding another job was proving to be a hard task.
Back On My Feet
Eking barely for a living 2 months into the job search, and with barely little money to cater for my bills, I decided to concentrate on developing an improving my idea. I might be a little stressed up then, but I gave myself courage and started working hard into programming the ‘revolutionary app’.
This took me almost a month of sticking to a certain menu to stay healthy and refreshed, and also going to sleep late while researching on the best ways to make it unique and appreciated. I though outside the box and eventually I came up with something which would revolutionize banking systems.
It was a computer application which would be used in a banking system to facilitate security mobile banking. I licensed my technology and then through the help of my friends, I raised some funds to start a company and some for marketing.
It didn’t take more than 3 months before the local banks realized what a piece of technology I had and how it would eventually benefit them. The next six months were spent advancing the technology, organizing staff and banking on my technology which eventually saw my company being ranked among the best.
